• Welcome to MCME!

Minecraft Middle Earth is a Minecraft community that recreates the world described by JRR Tolkien and his writings. Everyone can participate in organized events in which we collaborate to create major landmarks, terrain, caves, castles, towns, farms and more.

It's a mod that I've started playing with and it's really cool - it essentially removes the game's vertical limitations so for example, Moria could be a single huge structure instead of a ton of warps. The main issue right now is that Cubic Chunks saves the world differently than normal Minecraft so it isn't compatible with Spigot, WE, Voxel, MCEDIT, or pretty much anything else that deals with world files and hasn't been modified for CC compatibility. There is only a semi-compatible branch for WE at the moment, however, MCEDIT and Sponge are being worked on. The CC devs also say that it is completely possible to make other world-editing and file-handling MC-tools compatible as well. The CC mod is also open source and since the devs aren't interested in porting every single MC-tool themselves, other programmers are encouraged to make a branch for their favorite tools and the CC devs have a Discord server with a large community to offer help.

Anyways, I think this would be a really cool thing to use on MCME.

Here are the forge links if you want to check the mod out: (CubicChunks alone leaves no caves and only stone generating below y=0, but it is also far more compatible with other stuff.)

Unlimited build hight would be absolutely awesome. But it's not really an option for us. As you said most essential build plugins are not supported. Even if they would be supported it would be a huge risk to go. We would be dependent on these special tools. If their development would be abandoned we would be stuck in some outdated Minecraft version. That would be terrible in my opinion as our build quality profits very much from all the new blocks introduced in the recent versions.
Another point is that we want MCME to be open for unmodded vanilla clients to get a large player base.
