    fwiw, after that first time not being able to return from the shop, I didn't have a problem with it at all..... Except... I was at the last shop teleport (I think the sign said Last Chance or something -- the one where you take down the 4 columns), I went to the shop for last minute supplies...

    I had the same problem with getting back. Went to the shop, hit the button to head back.... and nothing. I eventually just committed suicide by jumping into the lava and was able to get back to my original spot. Not sure if its something I'm doing wrong or just something about the map.
