    Hello friendlies!


    As you might know, we have a cool plugin, the animation plugin. This means that we can animate gates and such, yet we have almost no animated things as of now. Thus this is the purpose of this thread, to create a list of things that can be animated.


    To propose a location for an animation please follow the template below:


    Location: [Name]

    Coördinates: [xyz]

    Closest warp: [Warp name]

    [picture of thing that you want animated]


    Note, you can also make the animated version in freebuild, that way the staff have to do less to create an animation. If you have the version already built just add this to your post:

    If you suggest an animation it would be very helpful indeed to provide the frames for the animation.
    For a small animation like front door of Bag End two frames are enough (open and closed version of the door). For larger animations like a city gate you need more frames with half open gate, 6 to 10 maybe.

    Btw I made a Bag End front door last year. But I think it needs an rp update to get implemented on main world.

    Finrod actually made a thread like this some time ago but this one seems far more official in how it's structured so I'll post the animations I've built as soon as I can.

    Maybe the door at hobbiton? It gives a good first impression of the server.

    For Hobbit doors: can't we just have a special 3D model for it, to have a proper, thin door? This is certainly possible, but it doesn't have priority rn. An animation is just too much imo and would take up too much space at the smaller holes.

    This is just an idea and I don’t know if it’s possible but what about smoke, it could be made with using an item and armor stands or with cobwebs or retextured glass which would be less laggy. The smoke could be used for chimneys, doesn’t have to be every single one but some would be nice. To reduce lag it could be that it just works when somebody is in the area of 50 block radius.

    NOTE:

    I'm not actually sure if there would be much point of animating it if there was no way of riding it across the river, and it should also be animated from the opposite side of the river the ferry is currently on so you can take it across when going along the fellowship route.

    It used to be animated long ago and then you could ride it. And I know you can at least walk on the animations whilst they animate cuz I have ran up and then jumped off the DA drawbridge before it fully opened.

    Gate of Calembel and Bucklebury Ferry are done :D

    To trigger the ferry you need to right click the half slabs next to the ferry.

    I found the problem with the reverse direction of the ferry animation in the plugin source. Should be an easy fix. No idea about the invisibility yet.
