DnD/Pathfinder players. Lend me your dice.

  • Minecraft Middle Earth is a Minecraft community that recreates the world described by JRR Tolkien and his writings. Everyone can participate in organized events in which we collaborate to create major landmarks, terrain, caves, castles, towns, farms and more.

To get started, visit The New Player Guide
  • This weekend 20-21 April the website will be unavailable for a few hours for a scheduled upgrade and maintenance. Estimated time that the site will be unavailable will be around 3 hours.

  • This community does not generate revenue and relies on its members and financial contributors to keep it running.

For a complete month, we would need around 235 USD for a break-even situation.

How many times have you saved the world? In all interactive games- Video games, roleplaying games, maybe even live action games -- how many times have you personally saved the world? I suspect the answer is "far too many times."

Welcome to "Way of the Wicked." Here you are not trying to save the world. If anything, the world needs saving from you.

The installment I will be running is the first book from the series centred on the escape of the villains from the most notorious prison in the country and culminating in a plan that makes the country incredibly vulnerable to an invading force of bugbears.

Players begin at level 1 and without equipment. I'm willing to help people new to pathfinder/ roleplaying games generate their statistics.

If you know about the system, this next bit is for you:

Stats: Roll d10+7 four times to get four stats, you also have an 18 and 8. Pick and choose where you want them. Alternatively you may use 25 point buy.

Pick one trait from the list. I will post a list of campaign specific traits that you pick the second trait from.

Gunslingers/Hybrid classes are allowed, but Talingarde is a medieval nation so you'll have to explain how your character got to Talingarde with guns. (Talingarde is where the story is, and is an island)

We will be playing by post on the forum, feel free to ask any questions or say you are interested.

This will be a five player party with me preferring new players over veterans.

Ohh very cool! I remember this from the old forums, I think, but I never participated. I would love to participate this time though, but have no idea how the game actually works (apart from the dice rolls and such).

I've worked with people who have no experience in the game. Don't worry :) Consider yourself added though Imp ;)

Okay, first question: What kind of character would you like to play? The basic classes are:

alchemist, (prepares potions, throws bombs, becomes Mr Hyde)
antipaladin (The epitome of lawful evil. Never goes against the law of hell or his own word, but will slaughter anyone weak enough to be in his way)
barbarian, (Get very angry, punt enemies across the room)
bard, (Fool crowds with illusions, inspire allies, demoralise enemies)
cavalier, (knight in not so shiny armour. Can ride bestial mounts if they want)
cleric, (Chosen spellcasters of gods. Healers. Divine mages)
druid, (Nature-based spellcasters with animal companions. Like summoning bears)
fighter, (The weapon master, able to focus in many styles of combat or become incredible at a single one)
gunslinger, (Wild west pistol shooters, or desperate napoleonic era infantryman. Guns can explode)
inquisitor, (Less potent divine spellcasters, prefer to deliver justice at the end of a sword, no-one suspects them)
magus (wizards who prefer to hit people with swords),
monk, (Backflips, summersaults, punching a man until their insides are goo. Can be good wrestlers, dirty fighters...)
oracle (Cursed spellcasters who specialise in a concept such as time manipulation, talking to ancestors.... etc)
ranger, (stalkers, hunters, specialists in killing certain races/creatures, excel in difficult terrains and have animal companions)
rogue, (smooth talking leaders of groups, also handy at disabling traps, getting out of locks, and stabbing a man in the gibly bits)
sorcerer, (Imagine if wizards didn't have to study in order to gain power... they just... got it and ran with it. That's a sorcerer)
witch, (Cackling madmen/women who place hexes on enemies and blast them with eldritch power)
wizard, (Studies for magical power and so has a huge variety of spells to call upon from their spellbooks. Hat and robes included)

I'll need to find an online character sheet for the players to fill out.....

I always kinda like the warlock class, which summons demons and casts demonic magic. But seeing as it's not in the list, I guess I'll go with a witch.

I've added a character sheet to the original post. I'm unsure whether it works for other people though....

Come on guys, we need some more people to join! Don't be afraid to sign up if you're a total noob in DND, as other people can walk you through the basics.

Uh, I guess I could join, I should be able to find the time at weekends at least. Just to warn you, my only experience with DnD is having a friend show me some Baldur's Gate, which I understand is similar? I didn't really understand it at the time though... Looking through the classes I think bard or maybe inquisitor looks like my kind of character.

I'd like to join. I will soon be doing my first ever session of DM'ing. Could use a bit more experience as a player.
