While people are entitled to have their opinions, and are freely to express them in a respectful manner, sometimes things turn out ugly.
It has come to our attention that recently a very small amount of individuals who are members of this community, thought it would be either a funny idea to cause a stir in Ardacraft's community. They did this by logging in to their dynmap, and making disrespectful remarks towards both.
In a nutshell, not only was there thrown with dirt regarding on how we do our work, but there were also individuals targeted, and the childish "x is better than y", "x is shit" and more of that infantile crap.
I'll point out we both do our own thing, and we both have our own methods. We identified most of the people who were involved in the incident, and we dealt with it. This isn't a call against having opinions, or expressing them for that matter. But trying to troll a community or people with three to four word sentences that terminate on "is/are shit", can...
I don't really know how to write this so I'm gonna try to be as honest with you as possible. That is hard for me so please grizzly bear with me.
Mcme has been a big part of my life the last couple of years. I have met some wonderful people on here. Made some great friends and I learned so much. I have so many precious memory's of these last couple years that I don't think I will ever forget. The community made this place great. Mcme was my place to escape my sometimes difficult life.
When I became valar I knew that I wanted to change Mcme to become even better. More friendly more open just more. I worked hard for that ideal Mcme. But then I learned that not everyone had the same ideal's that I had. That's where the struggle began. It became difficult but I cared to much for this community to just give up. That took its toll however.
After 3 years of having all these responsibility's and struggles it became to much. Mcme slowly became the place I wanted to escape from. When I...
Welcome, dear reader, to the fourth edition of (hopefully) so far beautiful 2016! Yeah it is your "Vala of buildin'n'stuff" again, or actually for the first time in this position, to get down to write an edition of the Times. Admiring a finished edition of the Times is really a nice thing to do, especially when you wrote it yourself. There's only one problem with that: It's so god dang arduous! Writing every edition is to some extent a pleasure, but to some extent also a burden. And it may happen that writing an edition grows into being more a burden than a pleasure, mostly caused because those stupid days only have 24 hours, and with people bold enough to take over a thing like writing the Times it usually is the case that their schedule already is crammed with other things. And the outcome of an edition that was more a burden than a pleasure to...
A New Year's speech
Traditionally every year on january 2nd a new year's speech is held in my hometown which I accompany as part of the local orchestra. And during today's speech I thought for myself, who not do something similar for MCME? Thus I'd like to reminisce about what the year 2016 has brought us, and what 2017 might still bring.
We started 2016 with the completion of the new Aldburg, lead by @Fireinferno13. By inheriting some textures from other packs Fire really added a very nice and shiny pearl to the already rather old and dusty Rohan region. Soon after that the Artist-lead project of Fennas Drúnin was begun and in july it was at last completed. It was not always easy with this large group of Artists, but the result is undeniable very awesome!
Beside that 2016 stood, as the years before, in the light of Gondor progression. Most notably Anfalas...
Every Vala/Head before me had some ideals, but I now want to formulate a few points that seem important to me and are things I feel we can still work and improve on. Please also note that I by no means want to achieve all of these goals right away in a perfect manner, but just have them as direction towards we will bring this project.
These goals have been presented to the staff team and have been accepted without opposing opinions that were voiced. Thus these goals shall also apply on all members I am supposed to lead, namely the Artists and Designers, but also all other members of this community are welcome to move the project towards these goals as much as they can.
Our goal is not to recreate Middle-Earth. Our goal is to recreate Middle-Earth together.
I am aware we officially proclaimed that the main goal of this server is to recreate Middle-Earth over things as role-playing and survival that much rather oppose...
So I blogged the last few weeks about upcoming changes to the forum system. Since of a few days the update has been installed and this post recaps one of the most important changes.
People can now either register or associate an external account to ease the login process. Currently you can either register or associate with a Facebook, Google+, Twitter or Steam account. If you associate with steam for example, we have some nice statistics gathered on:
Additionally, the forum has seen an update as well when it comes to liking profile posts, notices, two-step verification which is optional, but a serious security feature. However it might be really overkill for you.
Effectively of today, the freebuild server has been discontinued. The worlds will be put available to download in the near future, while the worlds we still use such as Themed Builds, will be moved over to the Build server.
The decision to close down freebuild is both financially and as staff members pointed out it would be better for the community if it became one (both in social and management aspects).
Hello everyone! I’m here to announce the return of an exciting event from last year: The Summer Event. The Two Trees Summer Event in 2014 was a lot of fun and we’re hoping The Three Peaks Summer Event will be too. We have lots of fun activities planned so read on to find out more about all the things to do.
It is strongly recommended that you read the following rules very carefully to avoid breaking them. Actions will be taken against those who break the rules.
Requirements for Participation:
- You must be a registered user on the Forums
- You must have passed the New Player World
- You must not be a current Oathbreaker
- You must be on the MCME Teamspeak Server if the event requires it
- If an event has a signup, in order to participate you have to register through the signup form for that event to ensure a...
Anfalas is finished! If you haven't taken the time to fly through it, you should! @kisos did a fabulous job, and I have to say Anfalas is very high on my list of favorite builds.
And with that, Keep Calm and Read the MCME Times (which, by the way, is from a British World War II propaganda poster, as I found out this week. Quite unexpected if I do say so myself).

I've been working on the area around Ras Morthil
This week's edition of the MCME Times is brought to you by none other than me, MaD. Now I know what you're thinking: "What year is this, 2014?" but nay, you have not unknowingly travelled through some kind of tear in the fabric of space and time itself, it's just that after a long time I've decided to come back to help take some work of @Finrod_Amandil's plate. And what a good moment to return to writing the times indeed! Nothing like a calm uneventful week to get back in the swing of things without too much pressure. With that in mind... let's get into the news.

Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of the Times. In the last two weeks, the world of popular culture suffered two losses: first, David Bowie, then Alan Rickman. This edition is in memory of these two influential celebrities, especially but not limited to Rickman’s portrayal of Snape in the Harry Potter movies. However, we also had here on MCME two project completions, so all balances out in the end. I hope you enjoy this week’s Times.
News from @Tyranystrasz:
Plugins for the upcoming survival map (which is apparently a thing?) are about 60% done. The map itself has been created, although spawn and shops will be finished after the plugins. Meanwhile, Tyr has also started to work on recreating the Builder School from the freebuild. Artists and up are encouraged to pm him...
The Hype is Real!
For over a year, there has been no continuous MCME PVP.
Some of you have never played Middle-earth PVP.
But I'm glad to tell you: it's here again!
That's right, it's not just for the 5th anniversary event - it's permanent.
To get the server off to a good start we'll be having a huge Minas Tirith - Team Slayer PVP game,
hopefully with close to 100 people! You'd better be there on October 10 at 6:00pm GMT! Invite your
friends! The server is open to anyone!
- Team Slayer: Two even teams. Before the game starts, a kill goal is set for the end of the game. When one team reaches that number, the game...
Yes, MCME has been slumbering for a while now. But now the great changes have been completed. Do you feel it? The server is awaking!Breaking News: Summer Events
I won't lie that the planning of these year's summer events have been a bit rocky and that things could have been prepared earlier, but last friday we had a staff meeting and decided to not let all of you down and just continue MCME's slumbering days but instead get off our lazy butts and organize some fancy events!
These year's events are brought to you by the Designers, the Foremen as well as the Guides, under the lead of Smaug!
And here's the real surprise: As we are already quite a bit into the summertime the events will start as soon as the upcoming weekend! They will last two weeks and are followed by a return of MCME Survival!...
Minecraft Middle Earth 5th Anniversary
Little did anyone know that the idea would pioneer the creation of one of Minecraft’s largest projects and communities we have ever seen. Block-by-Block, Job-by-Job, all amounted to the countless hours and endearing effort that players had poured into each project; Bree, Rivendell, Osgiliath, Minas Tirith and Moria.
But behind the building we saw a collective of individuals of the project construct a community that set the foundation on what we see today on MCME based on the ideals of passion, perseverance and prosperity. A personal advocation to some would turn out as a lifestyle to many. Whether you were a...
Brace yourselves, the following edition of the Times is crammed with news! The past week was absolutely crazy in terms of progress, not only project-wise! Prepare for a lot of awesome images and news!
Another statement I want to make in this week's Times is about what the status of Moria is. Moria officially is still on hold, until Gondor is 100.00% finished, and I don't intend to change that, for the simple reason that Moria will require all the attention MCME can bring up at once. Still Moria is slowly awaking, first jobs have been run there and already two staff members and some Artists are working on it often. The plan will be once it properly starts to allow most of it to be built by Adventurers+ using the upcoming Plotbuild Plugin. A lot of planning is yet due until that can be started though.
Greetings, now I bet you're all thinking where's Finrod? Well, he is taking a break from writing The Times for the next few weeks, or months, or even years. For now, @_Luk and myself will be writing it instead and we will be taking it in turns and alternating every week. In addition, The Times will now be published every week instead of every two weeks. So, I hope you enjoy my first edition of The MCME Times!
Easter Egg Hunt
- Clues are (hopefully) even more vague and difficult to interprete the right way.
- Some eggs are hidden in the most unlikely places you may think of.
- Beside the clue for the next egg there is also a scrambled up name of a LotR character on every egg that you have to decipher.
- The eggs are now smaller. (5 wide, 8 high)
- Instead of 10 there are now 20 eggs hidden.
- One more difficulty which I will not reveal.
To win you have...
MCME Plugin Implementation Day
It's been a long time ago, when Finrod suggested: Hey let's have a plugin for plotbuilds at the main map!
Since then Developers spend several hundred hours of coding. Staff members and other players tested the results again and again to find even the smallest bugs. During this process more and more ideas were added and delayed completion of the plugins.
But now the long expected day of plugin implementation has come!!!
These new plugins will now (hopefully) boost building and fun on MCME:
The Plotbuild plugin makes it possible for project staff to create Plotbuilds that consist of multiple Plots which can be claimed by any player (except Oathbreaker) at any time. Practically a village could be a Plotbuild and every house would be a Plot. Plots are always box-shaped. They can span the whole height of the map or can have a bottom and top.

Good day everyone. Another week has passed, and looking over the project updates I decided to do something a little special, and recognize @Ryiw as Player of the Week! He has been helping so much with every single project, and also working on his textures, and I was impressed. Good job, Ryiw.
No announcements this week.

The first Project Build is over, and I am very satisfied with the result! Also from the bit of feedback I got it seems to have been a thoroughly good idea. Check out the amazing builds below and give the creator of your favorite interpretation of Rivendell some feedback!
Today a new Project Build over two weeks will start, I am especially curious with this one as it's a far less well known location and I really want to know how you guys interprete it! And you know what, a good concept for this town may really be a base for the actual town on the main map, once we get to it!
Needless to say that just on there again tons of breathtaking progress has taken place, read on to find out more!
