Their access has been restricted on the forums, and access has been suspended to the game server. I can't disclose the reasons why yet, as I'm still doing the investigation. As I get more facts and information, I will keep you guys informed.
We discovered that there is a collaboration behind the scenes between Fornad and Finrod about 'a merge between AC and MCME' which I did not know off. Upon this discovery I preventively revoked his rights as I only had clues and wasn't fully aware of the entire story.
Turns out that on April 28, both Fornad and Finrod wrote a document that discussed an idea of how a merge between AC/MCME could take place. This morning Fornad, Finrod, Kulmo, Credoo and I talked about this discovery.
Because we felt this as a breach of trust, Credoo is taking position as Head Designer for a few weeks, until this level of trust can be re-established and things clear out.
I merged the threads in the Staff Discussions in order to move...

I don't really know how to write this so I'm gonna try to be as honest with you as possible. That is hard for me so please grizzly bear with me.
Mcme has been a big part of my life the last couple of years. I have met some wonderful people on here. Made some great friends and I learned so much. I have so many precious memory's of these last couple years that I don't think I will ever forget. The community made this place great. Mcme was my place to escape my sometimes difficult life.
When I became valar I knew that I wanted to change Mcme to become even better. More friendly more open just more. I worked hard for that ideal Mcme. But then I learned that not everyone had the same ideal's that I had. That's where the struggle began. It became difficult but I cared to much for this community to just give up. That took its toll however.
After 3 years of having all these responsibility's and struggles it became to much. Mcme slowly became the place I wanted to escape from. When I...
Hello MCME community!
As you all know a new Head Designer Role was being decided on. This was done by the 5 admins of the server: q220, Finrod, Dyno, Credoo and Mando. The new head designer role idea was brought up by Finrod as work on projects was overwhelming him and after the early January 2018 staff meeting it was decided that a person should be put into this position as soon as possible. Anyway, as you probably guessed by me writing this note the admins have selected me to take on this position.
I will be writing a more formal note on what this means for the server and what my position will be later. I will also answer any questions you have if you leave them as a reply below.
Anyway, I am delighted to be one of your Head Designers and I will do the best I can for the community. I will be promoted formally January 22 20:00 GMT (tonight). It will be held at the Dol Amroth Palace. Hope to see you all there (that can make it.)
So for now thank you all and see you later.
So as you may have discovered some of the past issues of the MCME Times have turned out a bit meagre in content. This may have been to some extent because of lack of available material (aka nothing significant has happened that week) or lack of time on my side, respectively me deciding a release at least as close to sunday as possible is better than a bit more content. Now for this week I really wanted to make again an issue stuffed with more... stuff. And things. An issue with more stuff and things! Are you already excited what the stuff and the things are? Yeah, sure you are, so read on already!
Breaking News: Unlight the Beacons!?
Today @Mandos approached me with that at the time our server is set the...
Welcome to the
4th MCME Award Ceremony 2016
15th October 2016, 9pm BST
Yes, you have read that right. We are back again with the 4th Edition of the ever-famous MCME Award Cerenomy. Our yearly night of celebrating the best and worst of our server. Where we all shine in the glory of the public, where the winner of all is in your hands.
But this year with a new voting system!
The boring part:
You can vote on this document:
MCME Award Ceremony 2016
During the Event there will be live voting, the possibilities for the votings will be based on the votes from the Document.
It would be very nice if you could spread this around so we can see many members taking part in this!
So lets enjoy that night of glimmer and glory together!
The Hype is Real!
For over a year, there has been no continuous MCME PVP.
Some of you have never played Middle-earth PVP.
But I'm glad to tell you: it's here again!
That's right, it's not just for the 5th anniversary event - it's permanent.
To get the server off to a good start we'll be having a huge Minas Tirith - Team Slayer PVP game,
hopefully with close to 100 people! You'd better be there on October 10 at 6:00pm GMT! Invite your
friends! The server is open to anyone!
- Team Slayer: Two even teams. Before the game starts, a kill goal is set for the end of the game. When one team reaches that number, the game...
In this week's opening statement I'd like to talk a bit about my attitude towards promoting people, something the holder of my rank is usually kinda famous, or maybe infamous, for. When you currently join the server you may feel like there's more Artists than Adventurers by now. Admittedly maybe a bit an uncommon situation sometimes, if one should investigate on it it obviously must lead to that only I can be the cause of this and you may ask yourselves whether Artist promotions are treated to lightly and/or whether I may be too kindhearted when it comes to accept or deny Artist apps. I would not contradict the assumption that getting Artist is easier today than it once was. When I got Artist it took me 10 Themed Builds and 7 applications until I got the desired rank, today it's common that you can get the rank with only about 2 to 4 TBs, and of...
Last week @q220 moved the server to new, much more powerful hardware. This will improve stability of the server and also bring some very nice enhancements. First to mention the higher dynmap resolution and the awesome isometric map view.Project Progress
Many people have been on holidays during the last weeks, most are back now. There is a lot of progress in and around Dol Amroth, Belfalas and Ithilien. In Moria progress may be slow but it's going on.
By the way I'm not going to overtake the Times, I just jumped in for this one:
"I would like to apologise for the lack of The Times over the past 2 months. But I am working on a solution to get them out weekly again with some help from my little helpers!" -Smaug
I am very sorry that you always have to read so much about the new RP, I hope I am not boring you too much with it Especially this week I will bore you with very unattractive graphics: A big flow chart with a lot of text, and a series of images with mysterious code in it.
But now it's high time that you are getting excited about the new pack! We're almost there and the Dol Amroth team is already using the half-baked version of it to assemble some house concepts. As special feature of today's Times I want to introduce you a bit more closely to the behind the scenes of the new RP. Believe me, it really is revolutionary what Eriol developped here. Of course, mods with massively increased inventories are here since as there is Minecraft itself. But a solution with solely plugins, and no client-side mods that everyone has to install, is something that is still...
Yeah the Times are late again... BUT! They have as much content as never before! I even had to take some planned content out again because the post had more than the maximum 20'000 characters... Thus I don't want to use up any more chars in this intro, but instead present you some more interesting things!
Breaking News: Staff Meeting #17
On Sunday we had our first Staff Meeting of 2016. Here I will present some of the topics that were discussed. Please feel free to voice your opinion on these topics below!
- Giving Artists access to the Job plugin:
The first topic was already one of the longest and most difficult ones. We have noticed that Designers more and more often create Jobs for Artists. Thus...
- Giving Artists access to the Job plugin:
Our server just updated to 1.10
To see all the changes to the Minecraft game, you can view the:
Changes for MCME
- [!!]Chunk generation is now possible again due to a broken api. Please make sure that you do not venture too close to the border or build anything outside of it because these areas will be cut and removed frequently.
- VanishNoPacket is broken, we fall back to default Essentials vanish system.
- Plugins have been updated to handle the newest blocks and systems.
What is next
During the following weeks you will see more functionality and changes being made. One of the most anticipated is the release of The Architect, a plugin that will enable players to be more creative and make more changes. A development blog will be posted to highlight...
www.mcmiddleearth.com will soon have all of its connections encrypted with https://
You don't have to do anything as a user, but this blog post is to elaborate a bit more of what this actually means, and what the consequences will be.
Google regularly makes changes to its algorithm to change how websites rank on their search engine. As of now, websites that offer a mobile compliant version get their results higher in the ranking. A few months ago they announced that they would favor websites that only serve https as well. Ofcourse https has way more benefits than just a mere search engine ranking boost, it also protects every data you send to us, essentially eliminating a middle man of snooping or intercepting your data. This might not be especially useful to messages concerning Minecraft, though it is important when there's privacy sensitive information being handled, such as financial or personal information (or if what you write is...

While people are entitled to have their opinions, and are freely to express them in a respectful manner, sometimes things turn out ugly.
It has come to our attention that recently a very small amount of individuals who are members of this community, thought it would be either a funny idea to cause a stir in Ardacraft's community. They did this by logging in to their dynmap, and making disrespectful remarks towards both.
In a nutshell, not only was there thrown with dirt regarding on how we do our work, but there were also individuals targeted, and the childish "x is better than y", "x is shit" and more of that infantile crap.
I'll point out we both do our own thing, and we both have our own methods. We identified most of the people who were involved in the incident, and we dealt with it. This isn't a call against having opinions, or expressing them for that matter. But trying to troll a community or people with three to four word sentences that terminate on "is/are shit", can...
Phew, summer is coming, at least here in Switzerland, and to be honest, I'm already a bit afraid it's gonna get a tad too warm for my taste What about you, do you prefer the cold or warm seasons, or does the summer still hide under a rock where you live?
Anyway, dress up matching to your weather so that you can enjoy this week's Times without having to moan about it being too warm or too cold.
Breaking News: 1.9 Update on the move!
@q220 made a clear statement with his recent status update and also I saw that the Development Server has been updated and runs now on Spigot 1.9.2, in fact Eriol has already updated all of his plugins to 1.9. From what I have heard was the update from 1.7 to 1.8 a much more...
<01:07:25> "Kulmo(Laptop)": this is like
<01:07:31> "Kulmo(Laptop)": the old staff meetings
<01:07:38> "Kulmo(Laptop)": that go on for years
On the night from saturday to sunday we had our second staff meeting in 2015 and it was indeed really extensive, for almost three hours it lasted. We talked about a lot of things, e.g. project progress and potential issues with them, how to make ourselves known to new people outside of MCME and what media we can use how to achieve that, we talked about the PVP Rebirth that is being worked on atm and how that shall be used when it's done, aswell as some rank-related topics and some things that yet have to be announced to all of you!
On behalf of that I want to encourage you to voice any concerns or suggestions you may have concerning any topic. There are plenty of places you can put your inputs, whether that is the public suggestions forums or...
~ Staff Meeting Overview ~
Report by BWOT and Finrod
As many of you know a staff meeting took place on January 3rd, Wednesday 2018. If you don’t know what a staff meeting is; it is a meeting done over voice chat primarily with all staff of MCME (Designers, Enforcers, Valar). We discussed a variety of topics and to keep you guys in the loop, we would like to give you an overview of what we discussed and also what you might expect:
A new Head Designer???
The first big topic of this staff meeting was a reaction to that I (Finrod) have basically constantly been completely overbooked by the many, many tasks that have happened to fall onto my plate during the past months. The one task that I had most trouble finding time for was properly supervising and reviewing the ongoing projects. Luckily, the Designers were always very disciplined in their project leading and thus no big...
