Landingpage

  • Minecraft Middle Earth is a Minecraft community that recreates the world described by JRR Tolkien and his writings. Everyone can participate in organized events in which we collaborate to create major landmarks, terrain, caves, castles, towns, farms and more.

To get started, visit The New Player Guide
  • This weekend 20-21 April the website will be unavailable for a few hours for a scheduled upgrade and maintenance. Estimated time that the site will be unavailable will be around 3 hours.

  • This community does not generate revenue and relies on its members and financial contributors to keep it running.

For a complete month, we would need around 235 USD for a break-even situation.

What's happening with this?
I kind of forgotten about it after I couldn't fix the very annoying "image switcher" bug.
I didn't completely forgot about it and it was just yesterday that I decided I'd ask the other devs for help, I'll write them right away to finish this as soon as possible :)

Anything new?

Sorry, but I'm kind of hyped about a new website design, and I want to be sure you don't just give up on it:D

I finally found some time to work on this again (I have been very busy with school).
The landingpage is now a xenforo addon which should make installing/upgrading and configuration much easier.
Currently most of the work is finished, it just needs testing and cleaning. A demo can be found >>HERE<<.
If you find any bugs please tell me and include your browser and screen resolution as there might be some small styling issues with certain browsers and phones/tablets.

Nice and clean. Got a few questions/suggestions. Is it possible to incorporate the log in the site (maybe watermark and or in a header banner). And as dse said it be nice if the back ground is consistent with the other pages. That being said it might be sweeter to box (or make it less transparent) the home page so you have an easier time reading the actual content.

It seems to work fine on my desktop PC (1920x1080) (Google Chrome)

However, it appears to have a few issues on my ipod touch 5th generation (1136x640) (Safari)

This first picture shows the join us section, it appears to be cut off. It does not let me zoom out. This section does however appear as normal if I hold the ipod horizontally. I can scroll down to see the rest of the Join us section to see it all when holding the ipod horizontally.

This next screenshot is closer to the bottom of the page. (It organised all the text on screen into a script, so I had to scroll down rather than scroll horizontally). The text appears to overlap here. This is not fixed by tilting the ipod horizontally

Can you do the pictures as the background for the forums part too?

I added the logo and I'll fiddle around with the transparency. The problem with the background image is that most of the image will be obstructed by the forum content.

That's still better than no image, in my opinion.

If this is still being considered and worked on I would like to put in my two cents. Personally I find the forum post text way too large. It's like size 24 font on my screen. It also feels strangely lined up with the Home bar across the top.
I also feel that the Join Me could look aesthetically more pleasing; perhaps it's the choice of font? I would generally resize the entire right panel to be smaller too.

Above is at 67%, personally I feel that the size of text is much more reasonable and less in your face. I feel that if you could make it this size but more compressed to the centre so you can appreciate more of the background that would be far better.

So can I get to this?
