It depends on the block if a transparent textures is rendered with transparency. When you put a transparent texture on a glass block, you will see it transparent. Put the same texture on a dirt block and it will be opaque.

A possible solution is to use item blocks. Item textures seem to be rendered with texture transparency always (->water filled barrel).

@P1eter, could you delete those ridiculous long image data posts, please.
It would be great if you could set the frame as opaque, then overlay the various color schemes as transparent to some degree.

Awesome, awesome, awesome work, sorry I haven't given any feedback earlier!!!

- Ground moss, mud, puddles: Genius.
- Fire's barrels: No question, just fantastic! I just checked them out on dev server and they look very adorable, also the content textures are great!
- Artemis' barrels: Very interesting creation; I think the shape is just still simple enough to not look alien to other minecraft things.
- Additional slabs / infinite blocks: meh, this sucks.
- Artemis' bookshelves: They look very nice, but I think they might be too detailed for Minecraft...
- Fire's windows: I like the a whole lot, might be about time to bring some more realism into MCME windows.

With the item blocks it is super simple to add barrels which are not completely filled :)

Here are the windows. I think the easiest way to go about this would be to make the colored windows transparent, while overlaying with the opaque bars if that is somehow possible. If this works I would be happy to create a few more texture variants.







I noticed my diamond windows looked somewhat similar to conquest diamond windows after I finished designing mine. However to be clear my textures are completely original and are simply limitted by the fact that there are only so many ways to make a diamond window pattern..

Feedback:
  • Why do you need a bucket with a log inside it?
  • Meat in a bucket looks weird imo, I would remove it
Consider Adding:
  • Snow barrel - aka salt
  • Gravel barrel - for making roads or counterweights
  • Cobble barrel - for roads/walls/counterweights/etc
  • Hay barrel (the purpur block one) - for animal feeding

Onions would be cool, too.
Hay should probably be less ordered than the texture of the purpur block.

I think we can add pretty much all of these, the bottom 3 (colored) windows are super nice, I would love to see a red variant, and also a multi-colored variant (@Beathaven you once linked me a picture for this? Could you link it here, i forgot). But overall I love these windows, gj.

The barrel textures are also really amazing, I can add them all to the list. (Love the fish and grapes!)

Ok so I compiled a quick list for this (weeks?) objective, anyone can feel free to make these.

  • More crop textures, Barley/rye/oats etc..
  • More solid exterior blocks. We need some more for these, id say these should probably be the highest priority, as we need them before we can start building stuff. Pretty much any blocks will do that you think will fit into Gondor/Dol Amroth, for starters, a red sandstone texture would be great!
  • Misc. Anymore outside deco blocks (much like Fire and Eriol have been doing) would be sweet, keeping up the progress on that front would be good to keep a nice balance in blocks.
I've been somewhat busy with some irl stuff the past days + DA planning. I'm back now tho, so i'll be helping out with the textures once more.

Also, friendly reminder that we have until the end of the month/year to finish the textures, before they get sent to the blockstate stuff for q to install to main. Obviously we can still texture a lot more after that and add them over time, but it'd be a lot nicer to have most of them (again, the solid blocks) when we begin building, perhaps to stop mid-project revamps and changes in style.

Keep up the great work guys, if we keep this amount of progress I think we'll have an amazing new RP to work with!

@Eaglz24 I will post a red and multicolored variant later. Crops are another beast, I haven't figured out how to do the more whispy/stalky crops well yet. I have been struggling at an updated wheat crop for some time now without any great results so no promises on this front.

I wasn't sure about the transparency, so I made 50%, 60%, 70% and 75% :D
Still have to add the third kind and fix some issues, but it's too late today.

Btw I used powered acacia fence doors as they have a matching collision box.

I'm only doing minor fixes or changes of existing models. So I usually just edit the model file by hand. But I believe this one is quite good: MrCrayfish's Model Creator

Done. Assuming everyone likes both the filler textures and new window variants - @Eriol_Eandur these are ready to add! To summarize:
  • Variants: small diamond, large diamond, circle, and wood squares
  • Colors: clear, grey, brown, green, red, multi, and blue

UPDATE: I totally lied I added a really pretty blue variant lol.

TBH @Eaglz24 I think the multicolor is too bright so I could make a dulled version but that would digress from what you wanted. Up to you..

Some of these textures are 32x32! OMG! Reduce the size to 16 cuz they make MC less blocky! /s


Now seriously: either you put 16 version in the current official pack as it was agreed 1 year ago (no 32x32 textures!) or I demand 32x32 official pack (or at least discussion about it again). I put a lot of effort in those back then and I am seeing now some of the 32x32 stuff being smuggled into packs without any hesitation. This hurts.
