Opening Statement

Finally again a week where there's not a ton of progress on every single project; for once that is quite good I think ;-) So matching to that, this intro too shall stay short, the real deal of the Times you will find, as always, below!

Have a nice sunday and enjoy your week!

Project Progress

Andrast (In Progress) - Lead: @Tyranystrasz

Only small bit of progress in Andrast this week: The fortress of Ras Morthil has begun construction and the first few buildings on and in the rock spikes there have been built.

Anfalas (In Progress) - Lead: @otho

Another few small tweaks to the terrain could be observed, but else the voxel wrath has calmed down there this week.

Annúminas (In Progress) - Lead: @Fireinferno13 - Reporter: @Bilbo Baggins

The process of ruining the section of houses behind the palace is nearly done. We have 12 houses left in 4 different neighborhoods. The palace is also inching closer, and closer, and closer to being done. @bender400 commented "The palace tower will be dropped like it's hawt!" Fireinferno13 informed me that Annúminas "will be done before the month ends."
- Bilbo Baggins
Bareketta (Finished) - Lead: @kisos
Tarnost and Linhir beware, I guess you just got outshone in terms of building speed! Exactly one month (May 20th - June 20th) it took kisos to finish this majestic location, but once you see it you would think it took wayyyy longer! Thus be sure to check it out using /warp Bareketta, and also check out the version on the old map to see what giant leap we made in building style since then!

Edit: According to @_Luk Linhir was still 4 days quicker ;)
Lamedon (In Progress) - Lead: @_Luk
This week's work has mostly taken place on the slopes of the Ered Nimrais, the White Mountains. Plans have been made to establish a lore-accurate Nan Morthond (Blackroot Vale), and first terrain changes have aswell been made.
Lothlórien Vegetation (In Progress) - Lead: @Eriol_Eandur
Great progress in Lothlorien, @Emilio_ created vegetation with awesome speed, nine additional sections of region 5 were finished this week and therefore that region is DONE, and that means, that we're just halfway through with the Lothlórien Vegetation!
Thanks to all who helped with the jobs. Special thanks again to @Ryiw who spend an other week working in Lothlórien for many hours. He also made a beautiful small stream and helped me with the other streams of region 5.
Additionally the lawn between Silverlode and Anduin was finished, where according to the book Galadriel bade farewell to the fellowship and gave the phial of light to Frodo.
- Eriol_Eandur
Misty Mountains (In Progress) - Lead: @Emilio_ & @Finrod_Amandil
More work in Eregion has been done, rivers and forests look more beautiful almost every day. Along with new shaped rivers new bridges were required where @Ma5terMinD has been a great helping hand. Next small task is to move the old warg hill to the spot where it will match the storyline of the LotR.
Mandos has made some more progress on the Fords of Bruinen and I continued on the High Moors, so that hopefully soon jobs can start there to build these.
I want to thank very much for everyone who built a High Moor concept on Freebuild, there are really many nice ideas and I wil definitely find a concept that will look absolutely awesome in a larger scale.

Oh and on request of @TSGroot I made a public project post for the Misties (which is once more just the entire 11 post long thread copied from staff forums).
Moria (In Progress) - Lead: @Despot666 & @Finrod_Amandil
The work on adding the orc structures in the 3rd hall has been continued. Despot has been testing whether the new blocks (3D models) cause any remarkable lag issues; we would be happy if you, especially you haven't got the largest amount of RAM, could check out the 3rd hall (right at the end of the 2nd hall with the bridge), and if you encounter any notable issues, could report them in the Moria project thread.
Pelargir (In Progress) - Lead: @Credoo
Almost no progress this week; kis is as always working on the houses but too hasnt got the time to do too many of them this week.

@toeyoman has handed back the Reporter duty due to IRL obligations, which ofc is completely fine. Thank you very much for the updates!
So if anyone feels like stepping up for that small job, please PM me, there will still be a lot to report on Pelargir!

Public Projects:

Freca's Fortress (In Progress) - Lead: @Brazen_Helm
Finally all houses have been built (thanks firelad) and the village is shaping up nicely. Plenty of foliage and other little things have been added (boulders, a pond, woodpiles, haystacks). @kisos lead the finishing road job. Thanks for everyone that helped him on that! Again do /warp frecatemp to check out the progress that has been made!
- Ma5terMinD
Mt. Gram (In Progress) - Lead: @_Thijs1801 - Reporter: @Nic1337
This time almost nothing has changed except that the 2nd chamber is getting along good and that the side exits have finally been connected to the outside world.

Status Updates

Two new fine guys are now walking around with a purple name! Congratulations to @Ryiw and @___Raphi___ for achieving the Artist rank!

Additionally all staff members have reviewed the activity of every Artist. From this review some that were holding that rank but have not been active lately have been demoted back to Adventurer. Similar was the watchlist revised and those struck out that are no longer current candidates due to inactivity.

Themed Build

Finally a new Themed Build again!

MCME Activities - #2: Ent-spotting!

Your help is desperately needed, all you who wander the Lands of Middle-Earth! Since we long ago spotted the first few Ents wandering the giant forest of Fangorn we have never managed to find out how many there actually are, but this shall change now! I call all of you to enter the dark forest and search for these creatures so that we at last know about their number, below you find a map where you easily can mark all the ents you already spotted (check your position with dynmap). Please then submit your map directly in this thread!

To get to Fangorn there are various warps you can use:
- /warp Fangorn
- /warp Treebeard's Hill
- /warp Entmoot
- /warp Wellinghall

I recommend setting the graphics to fast (makes leaves no longer translucent) and disabling smooth lighting to reduce the lag a bit. Furthermore the command /fbt may be useful ;-)

Closing Statement

“There are two novels that can transform a bookish 14-year-kid’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish daydream that can lead to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood in which large chunks of the day are spent inventing ways to make real life more like a fantasy novel. The other is a book about orcs."
