• Welcome to MCME!

Minecraft Middle Earth is a Minecraft community that recreates the world described by JRR Tolkien and his writings. Everyone can participate in organized events in which we collaborate to create major landmarks, terrain, caves, castles, towns, farms and more.

    Let's Talk MCME Roadmap

I'm just a random Tolkien nerd who stumbled across the project many years ago, and up until a few weeks back I hadn't even opened Minecraft for 2 or 3 years, so take my opinion for the very little that it's worth. But it's encouraging to see this emphasis being placed on creating a more formal...

    Resolved Timezone-friendly event scheduling

First off, I fully appreciate that everything that happens in this community does so because of the amazing work of a bunch of dedicated volunteers. I also realize that it's only possible to run games and events when the people who run them are available and have the time to do so. That being...

Bookshelves in part of an exterior wall in Edoras. (2895, 1637): Also some nearby pumpkins in the floor of a house. (2847,1671). Edit: The bookcase thing at least may be a resource pack thing. There's a Dunland village at (1132,1110) with a bunch of instances of it.

    - The MCME Easter Events 2020 -

Next time something like the egg hunt rolls around, would it be possible to number each clue sign in sequence? I already found one out-of-sequence just by randomly warping somewhere, and if you get mixed up with a clue you might wind up completely bypassing a few without ever knowing.

Moria - Stage 2: Idea collecting and fine planning

I think it came up once before, but the thing with Minecraft's default FOV/rendering/whatever is that objects tend to look smaller than their actual defined size. For instance, a meter-width door in your house is plenty wide, but in Minecraft it feels like you're scraping your elbows walking...

In which I totally forgot about the thing I wasn't supposed to forget about but fortunately someone else remembered.

    ~The MCME Times~ #21/15

If we're talking #revamps, someone get me a few of those Barrow-downs terrain/ruin features from the books that are missing, and I'll love you forever*. *N.B. "Forever" may be read as "the week or so I manage to remember it."

    Finished Bareketta

I was hoping for a thorough Finrod etymology lesson; that's interesting stuff. The fact that it's derived from Old Quenya is probably why it seems so alien to me; I can't recall any instances of Quenya or Sindarin ever using the letter 'k', at least not in any of the proper names I can think...

*cool concept aside, still thinks the name of this place is horrifically lore-inaccurate*

Moria - Stage 2: Idea collecting and fine planning

I always figured that the Dwarves would just have to schlep everything over the Bridge themselves. Gave them something to do, right?
