MCME Update I for 26.2 : Architect, The Gaffer

26.2 Update 1: Jobs reworked, new builder tools and fixes

Hello everyone,

Our first update since the move to Minecraft 26.2 is live. It brings the reworked Jobs plugin we previewed in the 26.2 changelog, the 26.2 rework of our building tools with a few new ones on top, and clickable chat that works again.

There is nothing to do on your side: same Minecraft version, same mods, same resource pack.

Update 1 status

Installed: 03 October 2026 19:50

Jobs that were running when the servers restarted for this update ended with that restart, for the last time: from now on, jobs survive restarts.

Update 1 highlights

  • Join a job from any server. /job check lists every job on the network, and one click takes you there.
  • Jobs survive restarts, and come with stats, leaderboards, projects and job chat.
  • Clickable chat works again. Buttons and tooltips in our plugins' messages did nothing since the move to 26.2.
  • New for builders: live biome tuning, the F3+F4 game mode switcher without op, and Architect's areas on the live map.
  • Fixes, such as no more 10-second freeze the first time someone uses flint or a special door after a restart.

Jobs: TheGaffer 2.8.1 to 3.0.0

Jobs are how we build together: a staff member opens a job, a build area of a set size, and you join it to build inside.
  • NEW Join from anywhere. When a job starts, every server hears about it, with a button that moves you to the job's server and into the job. Missed it? /job check lists every running job with a join button, and /job join <name> takes you there. Job names are case-sensitive.
  • NEW Jobs survive restarts. Until now, a restart ended every running job.
  • NEW Stats and leaderboards. Blocks placed and broken and active build time, per job and per player: /job stats <player>, /job stats <job> and /job leaderboard. A job joins the leaderboard when it ends, and its recap is posted to Discord. Special blocks you place with Architect count too.
  • NEW Projects. A big build made of many jobs is grouped into one project with combined stats. See /project list and /project info <name>.
  • NEW Job chat. /jc switches your chat to your job's members only, and /jc <message> sends a single message.
  • NEW A visible border. /job border shows an outline of the area you can build in.
  • NEW Handy buttons. /job mine shows your job, your role and whether it is paused. /job who <job> lists who's in it, and invites come with an Accept button.
  • CHANGED Kinder on the ears. A new job is announced with a soft note-block chime instead of the Wither's death sound.
  • FIXED Several checks around job areas and job roles. For example, someone who leaves a job, or is kicked or banned from it, is now fully out of it.
Good to know: if you leave the job's server for more than five minutes, you're taken off the job. Just join it again when you're back.

  • /createjob opens a form: name, radius and description, plus a starting kit, private or open, member glow, a Discord announcement and the project. A name that's already taken gets a number, so a second Gate becomes Gate_2.
  • /job manage <job> opens the management panel. /job admin <job> <action> does each action as a one-liner.
  • /job transfer <helper> hands the job to one of its helpers, and you stay on as a helper.
  • If the owner goes offline, a helper who is online takes the job over after a few minutes, and the owner stays on as a helper. With no helper online, the job pauses until the owner or a helper is back.
  • Kicking or banning someone takes every role they had, helper included. The owner can be neither kicked nor banned, and a banned player can't be made a helper until they're unbanned.
  • setwarp moves the whole job to where you stand: its area, its map marker and its stats, even into another world.
  • Workers and helpers can glow in their own colours, set per job when you start it.
  • /job listen warns you when someone tries to edit the map outside a job.

Building tools: MCME-Architect 2.10.9 to 3.1.0

Our toolset for builders: special blocks, /inv, flint, kits, the resource pack tools and more.
This is the 26.2 rework of Architect that we previewed, with a few new tools on top.
  • NEW Live biome tuning. Builders with permission can change a biome's sky, fog, water, plants, light, sounds and particles while the server runs, preview the result and save it, all without a restart. Use /biometune or its editor window, which has a colour picker.
  • NEW Game mode switcher for builders. Builders who aren't op can use F3+F4 for the game modes staff have given them.
  • NEW Architect on the live map. A Debug group on the map shows the areas where Architect's special rules apply.
  • NEW Special blocks count in your job stats.
  • CHANGED Barrier, light and structure void blocks need a permission. The Light Block from /inv still works for everyone.
  • FIXED No more freeze the first time someone uses flint or places a special door after a restart. The server used to stall for about 10 seconds.
  • FIXED Flint: clicking a line of the block info puts that block state into your chat input again, and sneak + left-click in the air copies the whole list.
  • FIXED Doors and thin walls are recognised in every direction and open state, and doors newer than Minecraft 1.12 now at all.
  • FIXED A broken waterlogged branch piece no longer leaves water behind.
  • FIXED Resource pack releases no longer end with a false error.
  • FIXED New players get the server resource pack as soon as they join, instead of after a delay of up to 15 seconds.
  • FIXED A slow or unreachable resource-pack database can no longer freeze a server, and players in a resource-pack area keep their own pack settings while it is slow.
  • FIXED /get <kit> works for kits saved with empty slots at the end, /random prob no longer fails on empty lists or totals over 100, and /chead submit no longer holds up the server while it looks up a skin.

  • Game mode switcher: architect.gamemodeSwitcher.creative and .survival for builder ranks. .adventure and .spectator exist too; give spectator only together with another mode, or the builder can't switch back out of it.
  • Barrier, light and structure void: architect.invisibleBlocks.
  • Biome tuning: architect.biomeTune, plus .save and .publish.
  • All of them are op-only by default. A rank that holds architect.* gets every one of them.

Clickable chat: PluginUtils 2.0.3 to 2.0.5

The shared library behind the messages of most of our plugins.
  • FIXED Clicks and tooltips in chat work again. Since the move to 26.2 they did nothing in many of our plugins' messages, including Architect's flint info and help pages.
  • CHANGED Paged lists now end with one line holding ‹ Prev and Next › buttons and the page number, instead of separate "page up" and "page down" lines. That includes MCME-Environment's lists.
