What is a great Ranger according to you? First let me preface this with the fact that there are many aspects to Guide. First off, I hear that a Guide application is not accepted until a Guide is needed. But I think that the server needs more Guides because whenever I'm on the server there is hardly ever a tour running. (In fact, I met someone who didn't know what a tour was.) Next, a Guide needs to be talented in many different ways. So I'm going to do the best I can to list them:
Knowledge of the Lore
A Guide needs to be able to answer questions
as well as explain events and occurrences in the
particular place you are viewing (tour or other).
This requires at the very least mild knowledge of
the Lore.
Knowing your way around the Server
Obviously if you don't know your way around the server you
cannot do tours or answer questions about it. You also need to know
the history in order to tell the tour members about as you go along.
The most important: Being sociable with other members of the community
This includes having extraordinary patience
(people can be SOOOOOO slow) as well as knowing
and getting along with other people on the server.
You also need to be able to express yourself simply
and understandably so that people can get what you're
saying as well as not being irritated.
Side Note: this is my second application, because I became inactive and I was advised to make a new one, with slight edits.
These in my opinion are the important qualities in a Guide
