• Welcome to MCME!

Minecraft Middle Earth is a Minecraft community that recreates the world described by JRR Tolkien and his writings. Everyone can participate in organized events in which we collaborate to create major landmarks, terrain, caves, castles, towns, farms and more.

Official announcement regarding the recent bans

your point makes no sense.

The actions taken were by members of the community against members of the community. I am not saying enforcers should be digging through every back channel looking for who shats on who, but the fact of the matter is the internet is not a private place. Things get shared and can spread like wildfire in the right circumstances. I think the excuse that "it wasnt suppose to go public" or "it was leaked" does not justify a deplorable behavior, it simply illuminates the fact that the people involved were consciously aware that what they were doing was not acceptable (which to me circles back to @Finrod_Amandil 's point of the intent of actions taken).

@Finrod_Amandil I am sorry for stirring the pot here and keeping the drama "warm", however I think there is a point that needs to be addressed that was missing in the original post about what is and is not acceptable behavior regardless of where it is done on the internet...

Well ofc it was wrong in terms of ToS, thats why we made a special Discord. Which also leads back to the point of the Enforcement of none MCME Media with MCME Rules. Where are the boundries? are there boundries? Regarding that pornographic material, can i be banned for watching porn in general? All those factory come into play. So i would be veryy carefull regarding that, even tho MCME members were involved in it.

Yes, we were "consciously aware" that @Delmana has no sense of humor or sense of following the enforcer protocol of enforcing things on MCME, not outside of it. What we didn't know is that he would act as childishly as he did and put on an unholy victim complex as he did. But we are not even appealing our bans. Unbanned or not, we have chosen to leave. We are only making this public to help MCME fix its guidelines before it drives other members away, which is not our goal in the slightest. We want this community to thrive, and it won't do that as long as people like @Delmana are given authority to oversee it.

I feel like you don't understand the concept of respect man :)
Except these memes were never shared with the community, which is the point. They were shared completely outside of MCME jurisdiction or knowledge, or at least it would have been the case if @KinkySauron didn't take it upon himself to be the white knight and betray his friends. There was one offensive meme in particular that I didn't even see on the Discord but that I heard about after the bans, but it was removed from the Discord because the ones who saw it thought it went too far. Once again, all this happened outside of this "family-friendly" community, so your point makes no sense.
Delmana deserves it just as much as any other member of the community. Think of it like this, if you work as a teacher and you make an offensive meme about your boss's relationship outside of work, you'll still be disciplined.

And I think that is fundamentally wrong as well. If you're not at work, your actions (as long as they're legal obviously) should not impact what happens at work. Regardless, this is a Minecraft server, I'm not employed by it so that's a bad comparison.
Also, stop trying to act like the Grand Mediator, when you're the one who leaked private convos and then admitted to doing it so that the enforcers would like you-http://i.imgur.com/5e0FOeQ.jpg

I have a very simple argument why generally not to sue infractions from outside MCME: Because it doesnt change anything. We cannot keep them from doing these things, and by banning them we just motivate them to make more offensive / aggressive / whatever statements, and they sure will find a way to get it known to MCME'ers if they want to. Banning someone is probably only a revenge to try to make the other pissed. It's as if a candyshop owner sees a kid beating another one up and as punishment sells him no more candies. The kid will feel pissed, but if he wants to he can keep beating up kids without problem.
If someone is banned it should be a benefit for MCME. All we got in return was drama and many players leaving.

Soooo.. I just had a nice run and walked my dog straight after to come back and see some really pointless argument. I am part of the group #buildersunite but for the love of god there is no point, you are arguing over nothing since you are repeating all your points over and over. so I will say this with an unbias opinion like enforcers should do @Fireinferno13 @yomama629 @KinkySauron @Beathaven @_Luk @TI_020601 please just shut up. I hate typing this much

If you've chosen to leave, with all due respect, please leave. You guys only seem to be keeping drama alive, when it should be extinguished. I understand that you're trying to better the server, but that's not what I'm seeing nor do I think that'll happen given your past responses. If you truly want to make the server thrive again, I'd suggest you simply stop coming on to the forums. I've seen in numerous posts that you and others have no intentions to play here anymore, and that's fine (and I respect that, seeing as your situation is a bit wonky), but I don't think you're going to accomplish to goals of helping the server out by turning it into a reality TV show.

As for me, this will be my lost post on the topic. I've decided that arguing about this is pointless and offers no real solution, so I'll be stopping. I do apologize for any posts I've made on this topic in the last few days that comes off as rude or biased.

If you guys do take my advice and simply go your separate ways, I wish you the best of luck wherever you go. Every person that's leaving is a major loss to what MCME is trying to accomplish, and I apologize if you guys feel like you no longer belong here. I'm sorry if you think I'm being harsh, I'm just tired of idiotic drama happening on a minecraft server devoted to something everyone here loves, Middle Earth. Maybe in the future you can return and hopefully by then the server will be in a place you all enjoy.

Guys, when I first joined MCME I was suprised about how friendly everyone was and I immediately knew that this was larger than just a server. You could actually get friends here and not just play. But right now this feeling has started to disappear because of all this drama. I've tried to stay positive and be as happy as possible but right now it's hard, specially when people I know starts to feel bad and are leaving the server. But all this drama is just making it worse. I don't think all these arguments will ever lead to anything. I understand that everyone here looks on this problem differently, but right now I think that it's just better to try to leave this behind. Sometimes it's better to lose an argument than losing a friend.

I just wanted to let you know that people that are not involved in this drama suffers too. Sorry for my english if you didn't understand.

I think that it's reasonable to say that the photoshops were insulting and demeaning towards a member of staff, therefore, it was well within the right of that staff member to address it in the same way he would any other issue. However, I feel that the bans were done for personal reasons. A less personal response would have been demotion, temporary bans, or discussing the matter over voice chat before a permanent ban was acted on. There is undeniably a discussion that has to be made about enforcers having authority to make decisions about what people personally do outside the server, arguing for that is not a straw man to take away from the content of the photoshops--however, the action of interfering with groups not affiliated with MCME has caused enough distrust to make people feel unwelcome here. In saying, my personal opinion is and question I have is: if the photoshops were the reason being banned, or at least making the bans unappealable, then why weren't more people banned? Why specifically Eaglz, Yomama, and Kisos? Why not me? Why not Beat, Ooits, Wroxx, or any of the other people in the chat group? This, to me, means that the bans were targetted lashing back at people who Del felt were the most critical of him--and not necessarily the ones at fault. Had I been more vocal in the chat at the time, would I have been banned? Is it because I'm not in a position of leadership, whereas Eaglz is? I find it too convenient that of all the people in that chat who got banned, Eaglz, the one person who's been leading the charge on updating DA--despite opinion of it being split in the community--was one of the ones that got banned... And immediately after he was banned, changes started being made to DA. That's for Eaglz to persue and criticize, not me. But I haven't found any response to this complaint as of yet.

It was not Del's decision to ban these three, albeit he was involved in the discussions. Enforcers can not ban a Designer without admin consent. Why it was these three I don't know, after all it was just a misjudgement, a very fatal one, but thats about it.

Regarding DA: It is not like this was plotted or anything similarily far-fetched. But it was Thijs and Eag who started DA and eventually their ideas went apart and Thijs gave in, he didn't like to do that. But it's completely understandable he's stepping in and seizing the opportunity, and its understandable that he is not overly interested in keeping Eag's work. BUT, there's also me. Without my consent noone will do anything with DA, If Thijs really wants to change plans he has to persuade me. I really like the work and style Eag has developped, but I can also state that Eag's DA has gotten pretty dark while we always imagined it to be rather light (think Eag is rather addicted to that brown bricks texture ;) ), so if Thij can present a style that's as advanced as Eag's is and he can reason the design choices with logical arguments I am open to discuss. If not, then I'll say "back to the drawing board please" and if he cannot deliver what is required then it won't be changed. At last there's a reason I am here, even tho sometimes it may seem like it, my main job is not to resolve drama because of player bans.

Don't think I lightly allow to throw away previous work, I won't.

I think @SirEonwe got the main point. This begins to be just hurting, to him, to me and many more here.

Now what you say is really hurting me @HeartseekerDK, you seem to suggest that there was a plot to get control over DA from Eaglz. I don't know you well, you were not too much involved in DA as far as I remember (I may be wrong, sorry in that case). I can't believe that there was a plot behind this, surely not from my side. It is true that there was a major disagreement about style. @Thijs1801 and I argued a lot with @Eaglz24 and @_Luk but these discussions were always professional (as far as I remember). Please talk to them about their opinion about your assumption.
Also as I remember there were no changes in DA "immediately after he [Eaglz] was banned". As I remember changes were made after Eaglz resigned and gave the lead of DA to Thijs. Also it were only some minor changes trying to adapt the style more to rest of Belfalas. Surely no complete disregard of @Eaglz24's and @_Luk's and many others work. This is my main critizism toward all of you. Things would have been much less bad if you would have waited with resignation and PSA posts until after the statement of MCME heads. But I don't want to blame you it was hard for me to wait for it, too (though I wasn't really involved).

You all made your point and I thing Finrod made very clear that a lot went wrong here. He announced changes a meeting and MCME admins will deal with the bans. So what you, @yomama629 claim, to help MCME community, is achieved.

Any more negative or controversial posts here are not helping but just hurting MCME community (or at least a good part I feel I can speak for). Instead it's time to say someting nice, so I will start that:

I will be sad if you will leave MCME because of this but I could understand. It's a game, it should be fun. I still disagree about the current style in DA as it doesn't fit to rest of Gondor imo. But I really think the discussion we had about DA developed building style at MCME and the houses look great indeed. I hope you will continue building great stuff here or wherever.

FYI: Before things get too far out of reach... The altered facebook images were where the line was crossed as it were. Also Delmana may have written the ban reports but the decision to resort to 3 bans was entirely mine, and in hindsight it should have been my name in the ban reports. Unfortunately the timing of all this occurred late my time and as I had a week long plant shutdown happening that meant I was indisposed through most of the drama only compiled the damage perhaps. The intent of the bans was to temporarily attempt to halt an apparently rapid escalation of events before a likely or possible outcome of the images finding their way to public facebook posts. I'm very disheartened that none of the players in question (with the exception of Glov) saw fit to contact me personally via forum pms where some clarification or discussoins could perhaps have lessened this mess we're in now. Discussions are a critical part of diplomacy, where character attacks only result in retaliation results.

More to come...

It seems like anything I say will infuriate the lot of you at this point, I don't have the right or the authority to keep arguing with people that are obviously beyond reasoning at this point. I'm going to step out of the image till the upcoming meeting. Peace

Wow i just realized... the last big drama happened like exactly a year ago (the whole ac/mcme-merge thing) and sadly enough people havent learned anything out of that :( as stated several times in this years big drama and as also stated in last years big drama: dont be so childish and dont get sopersonal on a discussion within a videogamecommunity... after all games are for entertainment!

It realy makes me sad how hostile some people can be when they are not even attacked...

In last years drama someone at one point said "we are all a bunch of geeks and nerds that love to do the same thing and nobody cares about us"! so ppppplllllsssss calm down!!!

p.s.: im not taking sides on the topic, im only reffering to some ppls behaviour here

p.p.s.: i (gladly) didnt witness the initial drama that caused the split back then due to inactivity, but even then upon rejoining i missed some familiar names i recalled from my first time around.
this time however i truly feel affected cause guys i honestly like were driven away from this community due to the behaviour of some people here. so ye: on the one hand dont forgett that this even affects people not involved into this, on the other hand dont forget that we dont realy matter so pls dont make this bigger as it is

p.p.p.s.: right now im to sad to care about good english or spelling, so deal with it as long as u get what i wanna say

im back after having my forum account banned

If simply being in this channel when the photoshops of Del were published here was enough to get me eag and yomama banned, why did you pick and choose us, without actually knowing who made them. Why not ban everyone on the discord server?

I want a strait answer, not that it was a staff decision to do it. On what grounds did you ban my forum account for precautions? I hardly see that as a temporary attempt to halt an escalation and more as a permanent solution. Its kind of hard to message you on the forums @DynoDaring when this happens.

Just two simple questions, cut and dry please for my simple American brain to handle.

wait wait wait just after reading this all again i want to clarify
The intent of the bans was to temporarily attempt to halt an apparently rapid escalation of events before a likely or possible outcome of the images finding their way to public facebook posts.
So you thought that banning us from a minecraft server would stop photoshoped images from becoming public, on a server completely separate from mcme. Even you should know that banning someone, and then having no contact with any of them for more than a week makes it more likely that the images went public. What you are saying does not add up. But anyway, questions. ^^^
