Anorien awaits new textures before it can continue building.

Andrast - Lead: @jacenpeter | In Progress

Report by Monster_Duck

Now that MCME has been updated to 1.14 for a little while, Andrast should resume its progress on beautiful terrain. This has not happened though, so we must be patient for a little while longer.

Misty Mountains – Lead:@Finrod_Amandil , @barteldvn | In Progress

Report by Monster_Duck

The Misty Mountains is officially on hold, so until further notice, there will not be another report about it in the MCME Times.

Lond Daer – Lead: @Ivan1pl | In Progress

Report by Soarz

While these updates will look the same, many things are happening in Lond Daer. Planning is taking the majority of the projects, as Ivan lays out the groundwork for the to be city's, and surrounding land.

Moria: Fellowship's path – Lead: @DoctorDaom | In progress
Report by Monster_Duck

Nothing large has been accomplished in the last two weeks, but things are in the works. DoctorDaom is still building in Moria making Khazad come to life, and LeBlancGandalf should soon arrive to assist in construction. The one and only barteldvn is working on improving and creating new textures for /rp d!

Osgiliath – Lead: @ooitsbirdo | In progress

Report by Foolhardyfish

I used to say that I'd never need a break from Osgiliath. And then I took a break. However, now I'm back I have returned to see some great progress. LeBlancGandalf is doing an amazing job heading up the main camp, instructing commoners and adventurers alike in decorating and filling spaces. On the other hand, Barteldvn is rightly focusing on Moria with the Dome of Stars taking a backseat for now. As for me, the majority of the vegetation is complete, with only a few things, such as trees, left to add.

~ Interviews ~

Interview with @Norir

Question 1. How did you find MCME?

I watched all extended edition movies (11 hours in a row) and then searched for a roleplay server. I found this and I love it.

Question 2. What is the most impressive MCME build in your opinion?

Minas Tirith or Isengard. Right when you get there you walk to the city/tower and see this massive place… just wow.

Question 3. What’s your favorite place on MCME?

Hobbiton if you want this "very good day" feeling, but Rivendell is very nice too... feels very familiar. Pelargir is… something amazing.

Question 4. Who did you first interact with as an Adventurer?

I built a theme and wanted someone to judge it and he said it was garbage and I should look at Osgiliath. Since then I can build good fortress walls.

Question 5. How were your first few days on MCME?

First days were amazing, lots of things to see. I loved the quizzes to learn new stuff I didn't know before. I tried to build themes but was very bad at it.

Question 6. What is the funniest thing that's happened to you while on MCME?

It is also the saddest, I didn't find the last waz head, even though I flew only 30 Blocks next to it... 3 times. (hehehe -waz)

~ Lore of the Week ~
Of the Valar:

The Valar were Ainur, spirits that were brought into being by Ilúvatar's thought, and He may therefore be considered their father. Some of the Ainur were also considered siblings "in the thought of Ilúvatar". Each was granted insight into a specific part of Ilúvatar's thought, and was therefore more aligned in spirit with that part. The only exception was Melkor, who was granted insight into every part of Ilúvatar's thought and was the mightiest of the Ainur.

After singing the Ainulindalë, the Ainur witnessed the Vision of Ilúvatar and the creation of Eä (the Universe). Many Ainur chose to enter Eä, agreeing not to leave it until the end of Arda (the World). The fourteen greatest Ainur who entered Eä, save Melkor who rebelled against Ilúvatar, were called the Valar. After entering Eä, the Valar and their followers—those Maiar who remained loyal to Ilúvatar and rejected Melkor's rebellion—started shaping Arda using their godlike powers over its physical matter, preparing it for the awakening of the Children of Ilúvatar (Elves and Men). Doing so required combating the evils of Melkor, who came to Arda to claim it as his own.

As Ainur, the Valar were divine, immortal spirits who had no physical body and could remain invisible. Nonetheless, they often took the shapes of Men, Elves, or other forms of nature.

Some called the Valar "gods," but they were actually emissaries or regents of Ilúvatar, and they were not to be themselves worshiped.[1] Their purpose was not to be lords or masters of the Children of Ilúvatar, but rather to serve as elders and guides. The Valar were prohibited from depriving the Children of their free will,] killing or otherwise using force against them, or dominating them through displays of angelic power.[1]

Like all Ainur, the Valar had witnessed much the unfolding of the history of Arda in the Vision of Ilúvatar, but not all of it. Parts of this history, and certain parts of Ilúvatar's thought, such as the true nature and destiny of the Children of Ilúvatar, remained hidden from them.

There were 7 Lord of the Valar:
  • Manwë Súlimo, King of the Valar, husband of Varda
  • Ulmo, King of the Sea
  • Aulë the Smith, husband of Yavanna
  • Oromë Aldaron, the Great Rider, husband of Vána
  • Mandos (Námo), Judge of the Dead, husband of Vairë
  • Lórien (Irmo), Master of Dreams and Desires, husband of Estë
  • Tulkas Astaldo, Champion of Valinor, husband of Nessa

And 7 Queens of the Valar
  • Varda Elentári, Queen of the Stars, wife of Manwë
  • Yavanna Kementári, Giver of Fruits, wife of Aulë
  • Nienna, Lady of Mercy
  • Estë the Gentle, wife of Irmo
  • Vairë the Weaver, wife of Mandos
  • Vána the Ever-young, wife of Oromë
  • Nessa the Dancer, wife of Tulkas

Manwë, Aulë, Oromë, Mandos, Varda, Yavanna greatest of the Valar known as High Ones of Arda or Máhani and Aratar (Sindarin: Rodyn) "Exalted". Melkor, the most powerful of all, is not counted among them.

The brothers Lórien and Mandos are referred to collectively as the Fëanturi or "Masters of Spirits".

In Middle-earth, the individual Valar were known by other names in other languages. For example in Sindarin, Varda was called "Elbereth". Men knew them by many other names, sometimes referring to them as "gods" at first. The Dwarves called Aulë, their creator, Mahal. The Rohirrim knew Orome as Béma.

~ Winners of “The Week” ~

This week we have another round of amazing builds and Media posts. We only choose from the best every time, so hard work does pay off. Sometimes it can get competitive and that is what will win a place here. Please give a warm welcome to this Times, winners of this week.

MEDIA Winners:
This week we again had some beautiful screenshots, but unfortunately I could only choose a dozen or so. We had some new competitors, like Human100, BWOT, Smaug and LeBlancGandalf, and some old veterans, like Mershy. Congratulations to all of the winners!

Artist

Ahh yes. We all know the question. “How can I build?", As well as the responses “You can try a theme build” and “You can take part in jobs." The other answer is “Apply for Artist”, and the last option is by far the most exciting. Being able to build in your favourite places all the time. Sounds awesome. We can never have enough Artists, and with a wide range of current projects, there’s plenty for you to do!
Are you inspired to join MCME’s main build rank? You can apply for Artist/ today on the forums! The Managers, Designers and current Artists will work with you and help you on your journey.

Guide

Or perhaps, you’re not a builder. Well. That’s not a problem! Becoming A guide is obviously the better option anyway. As a Guide, you’re the forefront of MCME, and there’s no greater feeling than when someone says your tour was awesome. You don’t actually have to be a lore nerd either, you’ll pick up on lots really quickly.
When you join the Guides, you’ll be giving tours, running minigames and testing players in lore quizzes, or if you prefer less “on the spot” stuff, Guidebooks are obviously your zen, or helping to tell MCME about MCME by writing up articles in the times. You’ll also plan help plan events such as The Summer Events and The Anniversary Events. We hope you join us soon, because us Guides really would love some more of us. What’re you waiting for?
Just click Guide and apply today!

~ Closing Statement ~

Answer: Háma, door warden of Meduseld and Captain of the Riddlemark got to hold Herugrim, sword of the kings of the Mark which was by that time owned by Théoden, for a brief moment until Théoden took it back.

Edit: I don’t remember Smaug saying anything in the last times unless I missed one.:p
