Privacy Policy

We are Minecraft Middle Earth ("we", "our", "us"). We’re committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. If you have questions about your personal information please contact us.

1. Information we hold about you

The type of data that we collect and process includes:

  • Account Data: Your name or username and email address used to register.
  • Minecraft Data: Your Minecraft username, UUID, and chat logs from the server.
  • Technical Data: Your IP address (recorded via website registration and server login) and technical information about the device you use.
  • Donation Data: If you donate, we store transaction IDs, dates, and amounts.
    Note: We do not store credit card numbers or financial details locally; these are processed by our payment provider (e.g., PayPal).
  • User Generated Content: Any information you voluntarily add to your profile (bio, location) or post on the forums.

We collect some or all of this information in the following cases:

  • You register as a member on this site.
  • You log into our Minecraft Game Servers.
  • You fill out our contact form.

2. How your personal information is used

We may use your personal information in the following ways:

  • Service Provision: To register you as a member and allow you to contribute content to the site and build on the server.
  • Communication: We may use your email address to inform you of activity on our site, or to send important announcements (you can opt-out of these).
  • Moderation & Security: IP addresses and chat logs are recorded to prevent abuse, enforce our Rules, and protect the community from spam or harassment.
  • Analytics: Non-personally identifiable information (browser type, device) is used purely for analytics to improve the website experience.

3. Third-Parties and Public Data

We do not sell your data. However, in the course of running a Minecraft community, some data interacts with third-party services:

  • Minecraft & Mojang: By playing on our server, your username and skin are visible to other players.
  • Dynmap: If you are online on the server, your in-game location and username may be visible on our public web-map (Dynmap).
  • Discord: If you link your account to our Discord server, your Discord ID is stored to sync your rank and permissions.
  • Payment Processors: Donations are handled by external providers (e.g. PayPal). We only see the confirmation of payment, not your private banking credentials.

4. Security and Retention

We are committed to ensuring that any information you provide to us is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable measures and procedures to safeguard and secure the information that we collect.

Data such as chat logs and IP history are retained for as long as is necessary to ensure the safety of the community and to handle ban appeals or moderation disputes.

Cookies are small text files which are set by us on your computer which allow us to provide certain functionality on our site, such as being able to log in, or remembering certain preferences.

Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data (such as account deletion). Please contact us if you would like us to remove your personal data. Note that some data (such as ban records) may be retained for legitimate security interests.
