    Not exactly, some of the things, like magic, could not exist (as far as we know, we can always hope) if the rules of physics etc. are true.

    But goddamn wouldn't it be fantastic if the next hospitable world we find is Middle Earth.

    You're missing the fact that it is very likely that a different Universe from ours will have very different laws of physics, so magic and what not is plausible. Also, if you were speaking of infinite Universes, then a Universe that contains Middle-Earth and everything that occurs in it is likely.
