In the interest of reviving an ancient thread from the forums a year and a half ago, Moria Speedruns!

@BevsForBros holds the current record from the previous forums but I can't remember what time he held :/

Here is how it works;

• Video or screenshot evidence is required of times
• No flying!
• Any route is acceptable!

Let the fun begin!

I'll get things started by posting my own time: 17 minutes and 12 seconds.

Mmhmm, it doesn't affect the time in any way so there isn't a problem.

I'll get things started by posting my own time: 17 minutes and 12 seconds.

I am pretty sure Bev's time was somewhere between 10-15 mins.
Can't say for sure though!

It was about 17 minutes and 20 seconds, but that might be an older record from 2013 or something.
Moria has been changed since he set the record anyway, so i don't think we can count the record anyway :/

When I entered the challenge in 2013 I once did 18:01 and after that recorded at least an 18:08 one:

Bevs again topped that with 17:57, I inofficially managed 17:56 later.
But never I heard of a number close to 17:12, not even in the old posts I found before the forum wipe, back from when Moria was freshly built...
Seems like that a new secret passage has opened since 2013, guess ill spend some time in the next week to find it

I did it in 17:28 and I happy very crappy video footage of it. If you want people to believe you did it in 17:12 though you should really get some video mister phe

Just pulled off a 17:35, but went wrong way at one point and had to turn back. Will upload video later. Positive I can get a better time as many small mistakes made and one quite large.

Because I have a .65mb/s net upload speed, the video is going to take like 5 hours to upload, so I'll leave it going overnight. Until then though..

I'm calling it at 17:24 due to W key problems where it liked to make me stop sprinting for like 1/2 a second at a time until I double tapped it again.

So this is for doubting me

Are you not using the hold down Ctrl while pressing W method? Much more efficient than double tapping W every 5 minutes.

I watched your vid, I take literally the same route. Only difference is when we go left at the hall of simplicity and go into the hall of complexity. You take the longass stairway down and then go straight at the chamber which leads you into a large cavern where you have to do a bit of parkouring to get into the hallway which leads to a shortcut to the sunken hall.

I take the longass stairway down but when I get to the chamber I go right, which winds a bit, then enters another chamber. I turn left and go out the center passage which leads into the same large cavern where you parkour at, but there is less obstacles to parkour over in this route. If you make one mistake it adds like 2-5 seconds to your time, if you're hyper aware of where to jump it can shave about 3 seconds off your overall time by not going straight at the first chamber.

As demanded, the Speedy Gonzales moria speedrun.

I'm calling it at 17:24 again because the vid cuts off right when I pass under the arch of the East gate at like 17:23:98

Hit a lot of bumps and slowed myself down by probably 2 seconds in the East Rift leading up to the Grand Forge. Just shows that it is possible to be under 17:20 if you're hyper aware of where and when to jump on things.



I've already been notified by a member on teamspeak in Germany that said the video isn't available in their country due to music playing in the background. I was listening to Pandora when this was recorded and didn't think about not having stuff get flagged for copyright.
