It's because since going to 1.8 server auto restarts is broken.
Well it's not because of the broken autorestart that the server crashes. Somehow that functionality broke with the update to 1.8
The crashes are caused by operations that take too long and cause the server to crash, operations which are mostly reduced back to two plugins: voxelsniper and worldedit.
