The MCME Quiz Challenge!
Greetings everyone!
Raffy here posting on behalf of 2 of the better Commoners, @Mortal_Engineer and @Exeterkered!

As I'm sure you've seen by now, the Summer Events are coming, and quick, and this is part of them! We're going to treat you all to an early taste of what this years' events are going to be like, with the Multi-round MCME Team Quiz Challenge. Without any further ado, here's Mortal, who is going to give a bit more information about the events!

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, get your thinking caps on and trivia brains turning as MCME proudly presents the first event of this years Summer Events, the MCME Team Quiz Challenge!

From Trivia heads to Lore Nerds and everyone in between, this event will keep you on your fingers and toes throughout!
But what is this event? The MCME Team Quiz Challenge is a team quiz tournament based on the format of the hit TV Quiz Show University Challenge, with teams of four playing in matches against other themes (think general knowledge). During the quiz, teams will battle against each other out to see who will be the greatest! As said, half of the questions being LOTR/Server Lore Questions and half of the questions being General Knowledge, allowing for any team to triumph this summer!
If you would like to compete please get together in a group of FOUR, no more no less, then reply to this thread using the format below to sign up before the first match starts!

So, how's it going to work?
Well, @Exeterkered will be our quiz master! He will read out the questions we have. If you've never seen University challenge before, then here's a link explaining it. Basically, there's 2 teams, who compete against each other. When the question is read out, the team who thinks they know the answer has to press the buzzer. They then say their proposed answer. If it's correct they get some points, if not the other team gets an opportunity to answer the question instead. If the other team gets it right, then they get some points, if not or they don't know, the next question is read out to both teams. The session lasts x amount of time (up to Exeter to decide ultimately), and the team with the most amount of points at the end of the time wins!

So that's pretty much it, the only thing left now is explaining the logistics.
The first round will start on Saturday the 25th of July at 6pm GMT (7pm BST, 8pm CEST, 2pm EST). The next round will occur the following day (Sunday the 26th) at the same times. We will then continue the weekend after that (Saturday the 1st of August and Sunday the 2nd) at the same times as above, before a winner hopefully being crowned on that final Sunday night! If we get a lot of teams participating, we could always add another weekend on, meaning you'd be quizzing on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of August as well. We'll keep you suitably informed as to what's happening.

That's pretty much it for now, please sign up as soon as you can. Entries submitted after the first match starts on Saturday the 25th of July will not count and will not be allowed to participate! Get your teams together as quick as you can!

This tournament will be one like no other, and we hope you'll be with us to join in with the first event of this year's Summer Events!
