The MCME Times

Opening statement Yeah I am late, I know, but hey I just did not want to release these Times without the two brand new videos I recorded just for you! So I hope the longer wait was worth it, now have a nice read and watch! Whats Up? Breaking News: Resource Packs Update! @q220 has just updated the download links for the Gondor, Eriador, Lothlórien and Rohan pack! The new textures are listed below. For all those who switch the RP's manually: Make sure you download yourself the newest version. For everyone else using the automic RP feature: The update will happen automatically. @kisos: The Red Cobblestone texture is now placed on the Redstone Ore and not the Red Sandstone. Make sure to adjust Aelhroth! @Tyranystrasz: Your two new...

Opening statement Ahhh finally a week where I could lean back a bit! Progress is always very nice, but lately it was just crazy how many things there were being worked on and where I had been putting my nose into! Especially the plugin development has taken a bit of a time-out this week, and therefore also these Times will be a bit shorter than usual. I hope you'll enjoy it nevertheless! Whats Up? Breaking News: Auto-Teleport Plugin installed! Yeah, the first of the new plugins is finally installed on the main map! Find a little more info in the Plugins section! Project Progress Andrast (In Progress) - Lead: @jacenpeter Back from the forests up to the mountain peaks was jacen drawn this week, shaping another large chunk of...

Opening statement Hey don't waste any time reading this opening statement, quickly move on reading the awesome breaking news! Whats Up? Breaking News: A new Bag End! @kisos, @_Luk and some other Designers have been giving a new Bag End a try, they have now concluded their work by checking on some lore-compatibility and have copied their work to the main map now. Check it out in the screens below or right ingame! Project Progress Andrast (In Progress) - Lead: @jacenpeter Detailing of the mountains around the lakes in Andrast has continued (such as adding grass, snow and erosion) as well as shaping of the mountains around the fjords. Was a bit busy the past two weeks and will continue to be busy for the next couple weeks so if...

Opening statement Yep, it has happened. This week for the first time there was no chance to include everything I want to have in these Times in one post, in fact this first post has already 20'000 characters on its own. The two main sections of this week are an in-depth rundown of the Easter Egg Hunt, and a lot of updates on the Plugins that are being developed currently. So take yourself some time for these Times, but enjoy them even more :) Whats Up? Easter Egg Hunt 2016 - Winners & Solutions I think most of you would agree on that this year's Easter Egg Hunt was pretty tricky to complete. Therefore I call everyone that completed it a winner of the MCME Easter Egg Hunt 2016. Here is everyone that messaged me the unscrambled names...

Opening statement Yeah the Times are late again... BUT! They have as much content as never before! I even had to take some planned content out again because the post had more than the maximum 20'000 characters... Thus I don't want to use up any more chars in this intro, but instead present you some more interesting things! Enjoy! Whats Up? Breaking News: Staff Meeting #17 On Sunday we had our first Staff Meeting of 2016. Here I will present some of the topics that were discussed. Please feel free to voice your opinion on these topics below! Giving Artists access to the Job plugin: The first topic was already one of the longest and most difficult ones. We have noticed that Designers more and more often create Jobs for Artists. Thus...

Opening statement Happy Easter everyone! Once more there's a hell lot of Times-exclusive content and thus I don't want to waste the space and your time with many insignificant words of mine. Get your special Easter snack ready and prepare for a nice read! Whats Up? Breaking News: Easter Egg Hunt 2016 The principle is nothing new, some eggs are hidden around the MCME server, and you get a few vague hints to find them. Still I tried to give it some new twists this year! If you are completely stuck at an egg, feel free to ask others for some additional hints, especially if you have not read the books any time recently you may have a real hard time finding these eggs^^. Finding them is really arduous, but once you found them you'll...

Opening statement Other than that it has been another crazily busy week (in a good sense!) I don't want to say much more here except to tell you to enjoy these week's Times, especially the two short videos I made exclusively for the MCME Times ;) Whats Up? Project Progress Andrast (In Progress) - Lead: @jacenpeter Seems like you liked the screenshot of Andrast last week, here's another one of the other side of the White Mountains, on which jacen has worked daily this week. Anfalas (In Progress) - Lead: @kisos Once more many hands have made many farms and villages spring forth in Anfalas, whether Designers, Artists or Adventurers, all of them have laid hands upon the beautiful scenery. Fornost Reruin (In Progress) - Lead...

Opening statement Oh boy was this a busy Sunday... From Will's MCME Reunion party which I only could join for some Cards against Humanity and Team Fortress, and then over the extra-long Audiobook session to more ordinary stuff like writing elvish song lyrics (#OnlyTolkienNerdThings) all was available to keep me busy until very late at night, and as of course the last thing we all want is a Times in lessened quality I decided to give myself one more day of time for it. So pretend it's still Sunday and you haven't worked all day long yet and enjoy this week's MCME Times! Whats Up? Breaking News Hehe looks like I found a way to motivate you guys :D. Opposed to the 14 submissions from the 3 weeks before, I got a staggering 172...

Opening statement So I have written around 100 questions for the quiz plugin this week. All of you who read these Times and who got asked to help out a few weeks ago managed to write a total of ... 14 questions o_O. Well, I'll take it as a challenge and will keep looking out for ways to make you guys hit your keyboards, and this week things get serious: For every serious, non-duplicate question that is submitted until next sunday, march 6th, I will donate 1$ to MCME. And yes, I am ready to spend 100$ or more for that. The questions can be of one of the following four types: Free text question, number question, multiple choice with one correct answer, multiple choice with 1 to 4 correct answers. Here's an example for each, taken from...

Opening statement A bit less extensive edition of the Times this week, as I cannot spend eight hours every week researching and writing this newspaper :p. Fantastic progress has almost become normal by now, which is absolutely awesome of course :D. The unedited terrain parts of Gondor are disappearing one by one now, and if we boldly look ahead into the future we may already see a completion of Gondor at the horizon... But hey, you, stop staring at the horizon for now, you've got some MCME Times to read! Whats Up? Breaking News The Oak and Iron Doors are fixed! The bug has been caused by an alternate version of the BuildFixes plugin q220 has been giving a try. As I missed one command from the previous version of BuildFixes q again...

Opening statement Brace yourselves, the following edition of the Times is crammed with news! The past week was absolutely crazy in terms of progress, not only project-wise! Prepare for a lot of awesome images and news! Another statement I want to make in this week's Times is about what the status of Moria is. Moria officially is still on hold, until Gondor is 100.00% finished, and I don't intend to change that, for the simple reason that Moria will require all the attention MCME can bring up at once. Still Moria is slowly awaking, first jobs have been run there and already two staff members and some Artists are working on it often. The plan will be once it properly starts to allow most of it to be built by Adventurers+ using the...

Opening statement In this week's opening statement I'd like to talk a bit about my attitude towards promoting people, something the holder of my rank is usually kinda famous, or maybe infamous, for. When you currently join the server you may feel like there's more Artists than Adventurers by now. Admittedly maybe a bit an uncommon situation sometimes, if one should investigate on it it obviously must lead to that only I can be the cause of this and you may ask yourselves whether Artist promotions are treated to lightly and/or whether I may be too kindhearted when it comes to accept or deny Artist apps. I would not contradict the assumption that getting Artist is easier today than it once was. When I got Artist it took me 10 Themed...

Opening statement Welcome, dear reader, to the fourth edition of (hopefully) so far beautiful 2016! Yeah it is your "Vala of buildin'n'stuff" again, or actually for the first time in this position, to get down to write an edition of the Times. Admiring a finished edition of the Times is really a nice thing to do, especially when you wrote it yourself. There's only one problem with that: It's so god dang arduous! Writing every edition is to some extent a pleasure, but to some extent also a burden. And it may happen that writing an edition grows into being more a burden than a pleasure, mostly caused because those stupid days only have 24 hours, and with people bold enough to take over a thing like writing the Times it usually is the...

Sunday, January 24, 2016 Opening Statement Good day everyone. Another week has passed, and looking over the project updates I decided to do something a little special, and recognize @Ryiw as Player of the Week! He has been helping so much with every single project, and also working on his textures, and I was impressed. Good job, Ryiw. Announcements No announcements this week. Project Progress Andrast (In Progress) - Lead: @jacenpeter It appears that jacen has only gotten a small amount more done on his mountains. Oh well, such is terraforming. Anfalas (In Progress) - Lead: @DSESGH @bender400 has joined the project! As for progress, I have started doing rivers, and bender will finish up the vegetation. @greglas2 has also...

Sunday, January 17, 2016 Opening Statement Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of the Times. In the last two weeks, the world of popular culture suffered two losses: first, David Bowie, then Alan Rickman. This edition is in memory of these two influential celebrities, especially but not limited to Rickman’s portrayal of Snape in the Harry Potter movies. However, we also had here on MCME two project completions, so all balances out in the end. I hope you enjoy this week’s Times. Announcements News from @Tyranystrasz: Plugins for the upcoming survival map (which is apparently a thing?) are about 60% done. The map itself has been created, although spawn and shops will be finished after the plugins. Meanwhile, Tyr has also...

Friday, January 1, 2016 barely Opening Statement Hello everyone, and Happy New Year from the MCME Times Team! Welcome one and all to the very first edition of the Times, your favorite news source, in what I am certain will be a momentous year for our server, full of great changes for the better, tons of projects being started and completed, old friends returning, new members becoming friends, and people who have just stuck around for the duration. Join us, as @Finrod_Amandil leads us all in a crusade into the very psyche of the collective internet, in an attempt to make the server more exciting. Watch as Gondor is at last laid to a peaceful slumber while we valiantly brighten the long dark of Moria with our building, and maybe, just...

Sunday, December 20, 2015 Opening Statement This was another fine week on MCME, full of lovely progress and nice productive work. Meanwhile...STAR WARS!!! This thread is, of course, a strictly no-spoiler zone, but I will say: 1) If you like Star Wars, go see it! 2) If you’ve never seen Star Wars, go see it! It’s a great introduction to the series. Also, go back and watch the original trilogy afterwards -- prequels are optional. 3) If you don’t like Star Wars, . . . actually I don’t really have anything to say to you. We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Times. Now, back to my LotR X Star Wars fanfiction. Announcements None this week. Project Progress Aldburg Revamp (In Progress) - Lead: @Fireinferno13 Project has slowed...

Monday, 12, December Opening Statement Welcome to another addition to the Times. Christmas is just around the corner ( Just 10 Days , 6 hours, 45 minute and 38 seconds since I have been typing all this) We do apologize for this coming out a bit late as we all are busy with school and so on, sorry. Also due to me (ooitsbirdo) being and a giant scrub at using google doc this probably gone fail as I am doing this alone today. So this week we won't have any project photos as I have no idea how to do that. Hope you enjoy, please don't hate me. Announcements Nothing Aldburg (In Progress) - Lead: @Fireinferno13 Construction, with the exception of the inner ring, is relatively complete. Jobs will continue to finish up the farm walls...

Sunday, December 6, 2015 Opening Statement Hello everyone. December has started, although it seems that 2015 just began yesterday. It's time to start thinking about what happened this year, think about the good and the bad things, and figure out all the good intentions for next year! During the next editions of the Times we will try to recap all the events that have characterized MCME this year! Announcements @kisos, with some help from others, recently started a >>scavenger hunt<< for presents around the server. Although you can no longer win for being first (congrats @toeyoman, by the way), I still recommend doing the hunt as it was challenging and fun. It tests lotr knowledge and mcme knowledge. Our Head Designer @Finrod_Amandil...

Sunday, November 29, 2015 Opening Statement Hello everyone. Another week has passed, December is very close, magic is in the air, time for family meetings, lights, music and wishes. We are all looking forward to the holidays. This week we also decided that it’s time to introduce something new -- more information below! So what are you waiting for? Start reading the Times! Announcements @BurgundyStig has left the Times Team, but thankfully he will continue fulfill his position as Guide. There was also an update to the Rohan resource pack! Find it under Resources! Project Progress I had a lot of assistance with pictures this week, but for some reason imgur wasn’t taking the links from our media, so here are more pictures separate...
