Hey folks,

I had this idea for a long time and what better time to do this as for gondors completion coming.
I want to recreate one of my favorite scenes of all the middleearth movies.
We could also use it for Youtube and Facebook as advertising.

Im talking about this:



This is by far the best made scene in my opinion. Pippin singing this sad song, Denethor eating in close-shots, Faramir and his riders riding against orc-osgo in somewhat muted sound, the timing of the cuts...

I think it is possible to do that as a Minecraftversion, since we have Minas Tirith (and thus the Merethrond) and Osgiliath completed, horses (at least for donors) available and bows allready are part of Minecraft.

We would need some things done for that, e.g. find dates and actors for the several shots, or painting Orc and Rider skins, or record the song (which i would love to do) and the sounds.
So in the end it would be completly our mincrafty work.


What do you think, and who would help and join in?

Progress:

Step 1:
- some Orc-skins
- Gondorian armor model -> allready in rp
- 1 Denethor skin
- 1 Pippin skin -> greglas
- Record "Edge of night" -> Daddlio
- Record ingame sounds (eating, horse trampling, ...)
- Analyze the moviescene ("when" does "what" happen) -> Daddlio
- Search for matching filmlocation in Osgiliath and the Citadell
- Getting to know "Camera Studio Mod" (or similiar) if you want to be the cameraman

Sounds like a fantastic idea which I'd absolutely support in the means I can (sowwy no video editing skills or similar from me :p), and as we'd recreate everything (including sound) ourselves copyright shtuff isnt a problem (most likely anyway would not as we're non profit n stuff).

Love the idea! (But don't expect Gondor finished tomorrow, still quite a bunch of square kilometres to work on left, especially Andrast/Anfalas and Belfalas)
 
And i dont think this project will be finished tomorrow either ;)

My first step is just trying to see what people think and who would help (with whatever)
Second step would be the planning/distribution of tasks
Third step recording
Last step editing

Will take some while i guess :D

  1. Pippin is one of my favourite characters.
  2. I really like that scene.
  3. It love that song.
Can I be a character in it, if it happens?

I did actually make a reply "do u mean we would have to make our own skins" but i think that went unnoticed.
 
Smaug, if you want to be an actor, then you should help finishing the first step.
Otherwise there will be no need for acting. ;)
You could do the skins for them, how about that?
 
Daddlio so your saying we have to create skins? I have no idea how to do that if thats the case and i cant imagine its too easy or that many people have done it.
 
I can help with the skins, been a while since I've done any but I'd be happy to learn again :)
 
I'll start with Pippin and see how long it takes, idk if I'll have much time :/
Is there a date they'll be needed by?
