I've tried to connect to the server several times, changed my firewall settings and tried different minecraft versions (1.15.2,1.12.2,1.16.3) and don't know what else to do. It sasy failed to connecct to the server, timed out. How can I resolve this issue?
 
Are you sure you have the correct server address?
Server version is 1.16.3.
Server address is build.mcmiddleearth.com

Do you have a firewall at your side maybe that is blocking your connection?
 
I have already created an exception for minecraft in the firewall an checked the adress and version several times, both are correct.
 
In my experience exceptions in firewalls are not working correctly quite often. I would try to shutdown my firewall for testing.

Could also be a DNS configuration problem. Try to connect to the server ip directly: 94.130.69.159 (put in as server address instead of build.mcmiddleearth.com)
 
I shut down my firewall and tried the ip directly, it still doesn't work.
I also tried another server to play on, which as well doesn't work.
 
Hm, if other servers don't work too it must be a problem on your side. Maybe another firewall you are not aware of? Devices like DSL-Modens and Routers may have integetrated firewalls.
 
Do you have a fully licensed account with Mojang? From which country are you connecting? That way we might be able to verify with VPN if there is not specific blocker set in place.

Can you connect to other MC servers? Perhaps putting in the default Minecraft port (25565) behind the address (build.mcmiddleearth.com:25565) might help you out.
 
I can't connect to other servers as well. I have tried the default port which also dosen't work.
I don't know wether there are integrated firewall in the DLS-Modem or the router, since I didn't install the network I'm using, but that could be possible.
I'm trying to connect form Switzerland.
I have a fully licensed account.

Perfect, considering you cannot connect to other servers either it must be something at your side. YOur network settings are most likely the crucial factor here.

Hope you find the issue.
