I hate the current beacon glitch in 1.8. You see the red one coming out of the building on the left. But thats only because the beacon is around eye level. There is a 6 beacon pyramid at bedrock level just behind the stairs with red white and blue MURICA colors that isn't visible due to the stupid glitch. But whatevs....

Have you seen the beacon I'm talking about. If not you need to look. I went to the nether fortress Ma5 set up a while back and killed withers all night last night. 30 beacons, murica, bewm!

How long does it take to farm 30 beacons?
well, I had 8 extra. With the six we were using that made 14. (for some reason I though I had 16 of them originally)
So I only "farmed" 16 total. I was at the nether fortress collecting wither skulls from about 10:15pm to around 3am. I ran a couple calls in between but I just went afk in a safe hole. I ended up with 51 skulls. After that, I went straight to the overworld. Dug out a 1x2 tunnel about 400 blocks long, spawned the wither, killed him, moved down and repeated that. I used 4 enchanted gold apples due to the regeneration, absorption, resistance and fire resistance benefits. I also used 8 strength potions, although I probably could have timed that better as I was taking them every 2 withers I killed, which I probably didnt need to.
Anywho, as to my original post....
